For the Spiritual Victory 3 영적생활의 승리를 위해3 (엡6:13-20)
Last week we looked at the whole armor of God. There are defense and attack use in the full body armor of God. Last time we talked about mainly defense, and today I will talk about the rest. I say again, Don't forget that the purpose of this spiritual armament is to win the spiritual battle.
Rom 13:14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to [its] lusts.
Strapping the belt of truth, arming your heart with a heart guard, and going to the world with the gospel of peace, which I mentioned last time, have a bearing on the attitude of Christian life. Inwardly, putting on the full armor of God is to walk closely with the Lord every moment, at home, at work, on the road, believing that you are united with the Lord, always looking to the Lord. Externally, it is also the reason to live as a good neighbor who is respected for the gospel.
The shield of faith and the “helmet of salvation” which I will talk about today are important defenses against the fiery arrows of the devil or cunning schemes. Helmets have been valued in wars since ancient times because injuries to the head can lead to critical hits or loss of life. In particular, the reason that the helmet worn on the head is related to salvation is because it has a deep relationship with life.
The way the devil attacks us is through doubt, mistrust, trials and tribulation. Through these, we can break our relationship with God, distort God's word for us, putting us into temptation. On the one hand, even though we believe that our relationship with God is not broken, we do not try to respect or obey God's word, but it makes us want to live the way we think. Among them, if we consider the grace of salvation already granted to us as insignificant or have doubts about salvation, the relationship between us and God will inevitably be severely damaged.
The last basis that we can overcome in all the tests we experience is our assurance of salvation from God's mercy and the love of the cross toward us. Remember again. Please do not forget the love of God who saved us in any tribulation situation and in any test situation.
ROM 8:31What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [ is] against us?
ROM 8:32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
And then Bible said, "take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."(Ep6;17) 'The Sword of the Spirit' is the only offensive weapon. The Bible defines 'the sword of the Holy Spirit' as 'the word of God'. The word here is called ‘rhema’ in Greek. The two words that refer to the Word of God are logos and rhema. Logos refers to the word as a principle governing the world in Greek, while the word of Rhema refers to the word as a powerful force that changes my life. In other words, the word of God that works on me becomes the sword of the Holy Spirit.
Tim 2 3:16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
It is not the Bible known simply by knowledge, but God's Word that changes my life and the Word of God that controls me becomes an offensive weapon against Satan's tricky attacks.
Finally, Paul is talking about prayer.
Ep 6:18With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
These 18 verses say almost everything about prayer. Talk about the kind of prayer. That is prayer, supplication, and intercession. Supplication refers to a more earnest prayer. It speaks of the way of prayer. It says to pray in the Holy Spirit, to watch and pray. These words are all related to our spiritual battle. In prayer, we are sensitive to the devil's attack from where and in what way. Prayer strengthens our attitude in spiritual warfare. Paul also asks the church members of Ephesus for intercession, by knowing that his evangelism ministry is more dynamic through intercession. Praying for each other helps us to participate in spiritual struggles, it gives us confidence that God will intervene more strongly and make us overcome the spiritual struggles we are fighting.
I close the talk. Walk with God every day and live as a person of God. Respond boldly to the temptations of the devil that afflicts us. The Lord is with you. Putting on the full armor of God is for victory in spiritual warfare. I pray that you will sing the song of victory in the big and small spiritual battles every day.
